- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool builds the ZIP directly in your browser using your device's own processing. The files are never sent anywhere, which is why it works with no signup and no size limit beyond what your device can hold in memory.
- Is there a file size or file count limit?
- There's no fixed cap. Because zipping happens in-browser, the practical limit is your device's available memory. A few gigabytes across many files is fine on most modern computers; extremely large bundles may be slow on low-memory devices.
- Will zipping make my files smaller?
- It depends on the file type. Text, code, and uncompressed formats compress well. Photos, video, PDFs, and most design exports are already compressed, so the ZIP will be about the same size — the benefit there is bundling many files into one, not shrinking them.
- Can I use this to send files to a client?
- Yes, a single ZIP is easier to share than many loose files. If it's paid client work, deliver the ZIP through FileDue so the download link stays locked until the client pays — no size limit and no chasing the invoice afterward.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. It runs in any modern browser, including mobile Safari and Chrome, though very large bundles are limited by the memory available on the device.
